FAQs

  • Please head over to the “Booking” page on this website for in depth instructions on booking an appointment with Kenna Lann.

  • Body & Mind

    • Try to avoid alcohol or other blood thinners for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment (necessary prescription medication is exempt, of course).

    • Make sure to eat a good meal and properly hydrate at least 90 minutes prior to your appointment.

    • Extra Credit: Feel free to start a regular exfoliation and moisturizing routine on the area that you’ll be getting tattooed a few weeks or months prior to your appointment.

    Don’t Forget to Bring…

    • A government issued photo ID that has your birthdate on it (i.e. driver's license, military ID, passport, etc.).

    • Cash is highly preferred for payment. See “Payment” section below for more information on other accepted forms of payment in a pinch.

    • A snack and a bottle of water; just be mindful of anything that may have a strong smell.

    • Headphones just in case; especially if you have a longer appointment session. Kenna Lann loves chatting and getting to know her clients during their appointments, but sometimes lulls in conversation do happen and she’s noticed that she tattoos faster when she isn’t actively conversing as well.

    • A book, kindle, etc.

    Payment

Cash is the preferred payment method for a tattoo as it makes it easier for Kenna Lann to payout the shop at the end of the day. It is the client’s responsibility to remember to grab the appropriate amount of cash before their appointment if they would like to avoid any ATM or digital payment convenience fees. Kenna Lann suggests going to the bank a day or two ahead of your scheduled appointment in order to avoid accidentally forgetting to do so. In a pinch there is an ATM near the shop, but it will likely have a high fee, a limit to how much you can withdraw per transaction (i.e. $3.50+ fee to withdraw a max of $200 at a time), and there is no guarantee that the ATM will be in working order if/when needed. Digital payments can be made through PayPal or Venmo, but will be subject to an additional 5% convenience fee (not applicable to appointment retainer payment) applied to the total cost of the tattoo and does not count towards Kenna Lann’s Loyalty Rewards Program. Kenna is also always open to bartering for goods and services as well! Feel free to shoot her an email about what types of goods and services she’s willing to trade services for.

  • Wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area that you are getting tattooed. It is also recommended that you wear clothing that is dark or that you do not mind getting stained with tattoo ink. While Kenna will always do her best to avoid staining your clothing regardless, always better safe than sorry. If you would like a more detailed recommendation on what to wear that is specific to your tattoo appointment feel free to email Kenna Lann!

  • No. Clients may not see their designs prior to their appointment unless they are traveling from outside of town (1.5+ hours of away) and specifically request to see their design before their appointment. If an out of town client requests to to see their design before their appointment they will receive their design in an email the night before their appointment. If you have chosen Kenna Lann as your tattoo artist based on already having enjoyed her work, then it is very likely that she will come up with something that you will love. If you arrive at your appointment and you do not like the design that has been made for you then you and Kenna will discuss next steps. Next steps can either mean reworking the design on the spot, rescheduling and reworking the design, or being referred to another artist.

  • Generally, no. Appointment retainers are non-refundable unless Kenna Lann is at fault for the cancellation (i.e. she is sick, family emergency, etc.) and you both are unable to come to an agreement on rescheduling your appointment. Even then, appointment retainers are only partially refunded if Kenna Lann has already consulted with the client and designed their tattoo. So please make sure that you are 110% certain that you would like to get tattooed if you place an appointment retainer.

In the event that Kenna Lann is at fault for a cancellation that could not be rescheduled a 40% refund will be issued.

Appointment retainers are generally non-refundable so that Kenna Lann may be compensated for her time consulting clients, designing their tattoos, and/or missing out on other potential appointments/walk-ins in the event that a client cancels last minute or no call/no shows.

  • Cancellations

Please let Kenna Lann know if you need to cancel your appointment, but keep in mind that appointment retainers are non-refundable and cancelling your appointment will result in the complete loss of said retainer. Alternatively, a client could pass along their appointment date/time to a friend or family member and have the chosen individual reimburse them for it.

    Reschedules

If something comes up and you can't make the original appointment date, the appointment retainer can be transferred to a different date if at least 48 hours notice is given. If less than 48 hours notice is given, then there is a complete loss of the original retainer and another will be required in order to reschedule. Kenna Lann understands that the unexpected can pop up from time to time though and will waive an additional appointment retainer with less than 48 hours notice if proof of said unexpected emergency is given (i.e. doctor's note, car repair receipt, photo evidence w/time stamp, etc.). Clients are allowed two 48+ hour reschedules without losing the original retainer, but after that they will be required to place another retainer in order to book again and will lose the original retainer.
